Helen made me go to the doctor's today and it turns out that I have strep throat. Thank you, Helen, for taking good care of me.
I had made it through the first two days with nothing but aspirin, and would have been bull-headed enough to persevere that way, but Helen pointed out that the infection could spread with dire consequences. I asked the Physician's Assistant who treated me (a very nice young lady), and she agreed. So, my wife is always right in such matters. After leaving the doctor's office, I immediately went to fill my antibiotic prescription (30 minute wait) and am starting to feel better after the first dose.
I felt like an industrial spy carrying my camera bag into the examination room, and would have been mortified if anyone asked me what was in it. In fact, I wanted to take a picture of the PA, but was too shy to ask. Instead, I hurriedly unpacked, used, and then repacked the camera while she was out of the room. I think the main problem is that the D70 is an intimidating-looking camera -- it makes me feel like an uber-geek to be seen using it. If it were small and perky, like most digital cameras, I would have less hesitation to whip it out and ask "mind if I take your picture?"
